Wood high stools have been around for a long time and has been traced back to existing before the medieval period, although its exact origins are unknown. Since its beginnings the stool has evolved a lot and in the 20th century gained wide popularity throughout homes as well as in commercial applications.
This popularity was due to an increase in the different styles and forms of manufacturing with an increase in aluminium stools with upholstered seats. However, despite this increase in other styles the wooden stool itself remains a firm favourite for many as it provides comfort with a classic design that adds warmth to its surroundings.
The wooden barstool design suits a more traditional setting as the wooden bar stool can be built with upholstered seats and in a number of attractive wood finishes. High stools are ideal for areas with Poseur tables and limited space as bar style seating can be fitted among standard size tables and seating.
