This may seem like an obvious question to some, but it is worth writing about as some people can get confused between cafe furniture and furniture used at home. Cafe furniture, as the name suggests is furniture that is used in cafe establishments or eateries.
This furniture can obviously be used in the home if you so wish, but furniture that is sold as domestic furniture cannot be used in a cafe setting. Cafe furniture is generally more compact to allow for more furniture to fit into a space and not only this, but they are made from durable materials that are easy to clean. The reason for this is that unlike domestic furniture, cafe furniture is used a lot more than say the furniture that is in your garden or kitchen.
This means that the furniture has to be of commercial grade when used in a cafe setting, to avoid accidents and breakages. Materials that are used to make cafe furniture, including cafe tables, cafe chairs and outdoor cafe furniture can vary however there are three main materials used, wood, metal and plastic. Wooden cafe furniture is most commonly used inside. It can really help to enhance the aesthetics of the decor in the cafe and the design can give a modern look and appeal or a traditional one. Metal, mainly aluminium and plastic furniture is most commonly used outside.
The reason for this is that they are more weather resistant and need less up-keeping. Plastic outdoor cafe furniture is becoming increasingly more popular as cafes are seeking for ways to stand out from the competition. Plastic furniture can be manufactured in a wide range of colours, more so than aluminium furniture and is more weather resistant as well as being more durable as some plastic chairs can be one single piece.
Café Reality is a resource for those who look to source and buy hospitality furniture at a competitive price point.
